Cotopaxi Volcano: Almost a perfect cone, Cotopaxi Volcano is one of the highest active volcanoes in the world at 5,897 m. asl (19,347 ft. asl). Majestic and powerful, Cotopaxi has been one of Ecuador's most sought after visits by the adventurous traveler, as well as the nature lover. This spectacular volcano can be found inside the 33,393 ha. (129 sq. mi.), Cotopaxi National Park. Not only does the imposing presence of Cotopaxi demand attention, but the park itself is an attraction enjoyed by many.   There are great hiking and trekking possibilities around and even on the volcano itself.

The fauna in the park is quite interesting.  With some luck, one may be able to spot the largest flying bird in the world, the Andean Condor (Ecuador's national bird).  There are other wild animals to be found, such as Andean white-tailed deer, spotted mountain rabbits and the tiny red-brocket deer.

Quilotoa Volcano: One of Ecuador's most impressive sites is the crater lake of Quilotoa. This is a fresh-water lagoon nestled in the crater of Quilotoa Volcano. Trekking around the lake will allow encounters with breathtaking natural scenery and a few quaint traditional Andean villages. The lake itself is unique and unforgettable. A must see for all.
